Dear Runner Bod is a podcast hosted by anti-diet running dietitian & body image coach, Serena Marie RD. Dear Runner Bod’s mission is to empower females to embrace their body as a runner’s body no matter their level of fitness, shape or size. I am hoping to interview experts in the running community who can provide advice on how to cultivate health, fitness, resiliency and self-compassion as a female runner.

I am talking with Dr. Victoria Clement, she is a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic floor, perinatal, and orthopedic/athlete rehab in the Philadelphia area. She has a special place in her heart for patients who are expecting so she went on to complete birth doula training to effectively teach others how to use their body biomechanics to have a better labor and postpartum experience.
We talk about what the pelvic floor is and why it is important and how it impacts you as a runner. We talk about pelvic floor dysfunction and signs to look for when your pelvic floor isn't the best. Why breathing is so important for your pelvic floor and how strength training helps your pelvic floor as a runner.

We are talking about my personal trainer assessment (episode 53) and getting her perspective on it as a body neutral personal trainer. She has other factors to look for instead of just relying on a body scan to tell you about your body. She also gives advice to those who do these scans and end up feeling shame or guilt about what was said to them.
