Rebuilding, Not Bouncing Back: Postpartum Body Image

This postpartum season, I’m choosing a different goal: nutrient repletion before restriction and rebuilding before “bouncing back.”

Instead of trying to shrink my body until it fits into my pre-pregnancy clothes, I’m focusing on restoring my nutrient stores, supporting recovery, rebuilding strength, and preparing my body for the hard training cycle I want to pursue.

But that doesn’t mean I feel confident every second of every day.

At 11 weeks postpartum with my first baby, I was already back in many of my old clothes. This time, I’m not. Even though I understand why bodies, pregnancies, and postpartum recoveries can look completely different, there are still moments when getting dressed feels hard.

In this episode, I’m talking honestly about postpartum body image, the temptation to compare my body to its former self, and why I’m refusing to let clothing sizes dictate how I fuel. My body doesn’t need punishment. It needs the resources to recover, get stronger, and carry me toward the goals ahead.
